“Supporting girls is above all a matter of respecting their rights to grow, flourish and
make their own choices about the future. It’s also a path to economic and social
progress for us all.” – Executive Director of UNFPA, Dr. Natalia Kanem
A nation prospers when its young girls, its women who are the force and the face of the nation
prosper. And that can only happen when we teach them and support them to stand for their basic
rights, one of which is education. Despite several measures taken, blatant disparities between
genders in terms of access to education, skill development, knowledge, awareness has crushed
several dreams and silenced several voices in the past and is continuing to do so. However, Bambino
Life Foundation is determined to bring a change by taking significant steps towards empowering our
vulnerable, at-risk young girls by teaching them and developing skills that will improve their quality of
life. It will not only help them become economically independent but also mitigate their chances of
being subjected to child marriage and teenage pregnancy.
To encourage and promote sustainable development, on 27th April 2019, Bambino Life Foundation is
hosting a girls’ boot camp at Kamuda Parents Secondary School (located 10km from Soroti town,
Eastern part of Uganda). Around 500 girls are expected to be a part of this boot camp where they will
be taught to make reusable pads, liquid soap, washing soap, shampoo, hand sanitizer etc. At the end
of the boot camp, the girls will be given bags, books, pens sets etc. to help them through school.
Here’s how you can help!
On this outreach, we require –

  • Books
  • Pens
  • School Sets
  • School Bags
  • Sanitary Pads
  • Cloth Material
  • Sewing Kits (needles, threads etc.)
