This outreach took place in Gweri, Soroti district, eastern part of Uganda at Gweri secondary school. We hosted over 600 girls in partnership with the Gejja women foundation, Totya organisation and the ministry of education and sports (gender unit). Our partners at Totya sensitized the girls about sexual violence and how to deal with sexual harassment, Gejja women foundation trained the girls on menstrual health management and on how to make reusable sanitary pads. The event was graced by the presence of Hon Angeline Osegge , the woman member of parliament representing Soroti district and local media houses. We donated over 700 books on menstrual health management, and about saying no to violence to the school library. We also donated reusable sanitary pads, disposable sanitary pads, clothes, school books, pens and mosquito repellent soap. The event was a success and we got great feedback from the students.
